VAUGHAN, Ont. — GFL Environmental Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire recycling processor Canada Fibers Ltd. and its affiliates.

The Toronto company provides recycling processing services to municipalities across Ontario, including Toronto through its single stream Arrow Road facility.

Canada Fibers has been awarded a contract to design, build and operate an advanced single-stream material recovery facility in Winnipeg, which will begin operations later this year.

GFL, based in Vaughan, Ont., is a diversified environmental services company employing 9,500 people. It provides non-hazardous solid waste management, infrastructure and soil remediation and liquid waste management services through facilities located across Canada and in 20 US states .
