Bombardier wins $31M order for TRAXX locomotives
Bombardier Transportation has won an order from Bure Equity Fund for seven Bombardier TRAXX F140 AC locomotives designed for freight transport in Sweden and Norway.
BERLIN: Bombardier Transportation has won a $31-millionorder from Bure Equity Fund for seven Bombardier TRAXX F140 AC locomotives designed for freight transport in Sweden and Norway.
Bombardier, the rail division of the Montreal-based global transportation company, said the modular, electric locomotives are to be delivered by the fourth quarter.
Bure purchased the locomotives to lease to train operator RushRail AB, a railway company and a train operator approved by the Swedish Transport Agency.
In April, RushRail won a multi-year transportation contract for Trätåg AB, a logistics company owned by Stora Enso and Korsnäs that handles rail transportation of forest products, timber, pulpwood and biofuel.
Bure, based in Sweden, has invested $35.2 million in the rail freight market, $2.9 million of it in Rush Rail for a 30% stake.
