Newmarket manufacturer adds anti-vibration technology to its product line.
NEWMARKET, Ont. — AirBoss of America Corp. is acquiring Flexible Products Co., a supplier of anti-vibration products to the North American automotive market, for US$51 million.
AirBoss, a manufacturer of proprietary rubber-based products for the transportation, military and industrial markets based in Newmarket, Ont., expands its product offering with the deal.
Flexible Products designs, engineers and manufactures rubber and synthetic rubber products, such as bushings, dampers, boots, and isolators. These parts are used to eliminate or control vibration and noise, and to enhance interior comfort, quality, and durability of the vehicle.
“We believe Flexible Product’s anti-vibration solutions are well positioned to benefit from future trends in the automotive market, most notably the demand for higher fuel efficiency driving the increased use of new powertrain technologies, engine downsizing and high strength steels and alternative materials,” said Robert Hagerman, president and CEO of AirBoss.
The company, based in Auburn Hills, Mich., has 311,000 square feet of manufacturing space split between three facilities.
