CT12 single-board computer boosts control performance

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.: GE Intelligent Platforms’ CT12 6U CompactPCI ups the performance per watts for a broad range of applications including telecommunications, industrial control, test equipment, server blades, supervisor and monitoring systems, security and surveillance.

This single-board computer is based on the latest 2.53 GHz Intel Core i7 (Arrandale) processor technology with up to 8 GB of DDR3 memory.

Intel’s latest Core i7 mobile processor technology the heart of the computer delivering high performance with low power consumption and low heat dissipation.

Northbridge components—memory controller, PCI ExpressT for external graphics, integrated graphics and the DMI connector—make the CT12 both faster and more compact. Clock speed, dual core architecture and new performance features execute applications more quickly and tasks concurrently. 

Using TurboBoost technology, the CT12 operates in single core mode for applications where dual core operation is not necessary at 3.33 GHz, allowing some to execute even faster. Faster Intel Core processors can be added as these become available.

The has up to 8 GB of soldered, DDR3 SDRAM to withstand higher levels of mechanical shock and vibration.  Also provided is up to 16 GB of soldered non-volatile Flash memory which is able to hold complete operating systems or application code, substantially increasing overall system speed.

Four ethernet ports (two front, two rear) support intensive networking with added flexibility from two PMC/XMC sockets, five USB 2.0 ports, two VGA and DVI ports, three COM ports, and three SATA interfaces.

Supported operating systems include Linux and Microsoft Windows.
