Cart streamlines assembly
Use cart systems as part of a lean program.
GREER, SC: Kitting carts from Creform Corp. help minimize inventory space on the production floor by giving assemblers the exact parts they need as they are needed. The carts also work well in mixed model assembly situations.
Creform, a Greer, SC materials handling company, says the cart (pictured) delivers sheet metal stampings, hanging on pegs and sequenced to the production area for easy loading and unloading. Two levels of product presentation are in the ergonomic “strike zone” and can be easily repositioned or reconfigured with simple tools.
The cart can handle one part or as many as 12 per product group. Presenting parts without packaging or dunnage and in set quantities saves production time and space, and aids error proofing.
