Packers Plus acquires Texas-based completions companies

Energy services company expects acquisitions to accelerate growth in the US.


CALGARY – Packers Plus Energy Services Inc. has acquired Texas-based companies Eagle Downhole Solutions LLC and CMC Machine Works LLC in a move the company says will diversify its products offerings and accelerate growth in the US.

“By expanding our engineering resources, we will be better positioned to develop, test and market new tools to continue advancing the completions market and fast track expansion into emerging completion product lines,” said Packers Plus CEO, Dan Themig.

Based in Conroe, Texas Eagle Downhole Solutions provides downhole tools and product development solutions to the oil and gas industry to solve completion and production issues in shale field development. The company produces the E-Pak ESP Packer, a completion tool that protects casing from high levels of sour gas.

CMC Machine Works provides high-end manufacturing and machining services.

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

Packers Plus designs and manufactures solutions for a number of oil and gas completion activities. The company has 37 offices in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia.
