SIDNEY, BC – BC’s New Democrat energy critic says the Liberal election machine is conducting another smear campaign by claiming he had a secret meeting with the head of Kinder Morgan Canada.
John Horgan says he did call the company president the day after NDP Leader Adrian Dix said he wouldn’t support Kinder Morgan’s pipeline expansion through BC.
Horgan says it was a courtesy call to advise Anderson of the party’s position, and there was nothing secret about it, nor was he issuing any plans for the day after the election.
NDP Leader Adrian Dix has been accused of flip-flopping on the pipeline issue, first saying he would wait until the company released its expansion plans before stating a position, then rejecting the expansion outright.
Premier Christy Clark is in northern BC, again talking about the energy industry and saying the NDP leader’s go-slow attitude towards resource development will actually put a halt to liquefied natural gas projects.
