PORT MOODY, BC – Suncor Energy confirms about 225 barrels of bio-diesel have leaked at its plant in Port Moody, BC, with a small amount of the oil seeping into Burrard Inlet.

The incident occurred four days ago, but details are only being released now.

Spokeswoman Sneh Seetal (sin-AH SEE-tall) says the leaking tank was drained as soon as the problem was noted.

She also says all the appropriate authorities were immediately informed.

Most of the bio-diesel was collected in a trench and disposed of, and Seetal says Western Canada Marine Response Corporation is working with Suncor to complete the clean-up.

Port Metro Vancouver confirms 250 millilitres – about one cup – of diesel has been recovered from Burrard Inlet.
