So you want to set up a blog for your company: what are your software options?
There’s WordPress, Typepad, Live Journal, Blogger – the list seems endless – and confusing. The best choice must be free, easy to install, simple to configure and easy to use. Here are four reasons why you should use WordPress:
1. It offers great flexibility in design with thousands of free and low-cost templates.
2. There are thousands of free add-ons (plug-ins) and widgets available to enhance your WordPress blog.
3. It’s easy to set up the technical aspects necessary for publishing such as your feeds, comments, search fields, archives, remote posting and much more.
4. It’s very user-friendly and easy to use. There’s a vast quantity of free online support from WordPress as well as online forums and websites devoted to answering any questions you might think of and many you have not ever considered.
You won’t go wrong with WordPress. If they could figure out a way that WordPress could write your blog posts it would be perfect.
In the next instalment of Web Tips I will discuss ideas for blog posts.
