Sales of the Canadian-made RAV4 SUV jump 221.4%.
TORONTO – Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sold 10,439 vehicles across its three brands (Toyota, Lexus, Scion) in January, up 10.6% versus 2013.
Led by a twelfth consecutive monthly sales record for the Canadian-made RAV4 (up 221.4%), it was a record January for TCI truck sales, at 5,869, up 50.2% compared to 2013. Toyota’s Prius C, and Tacoma and Tundra pickup trucks also had record sales in January.
Lexus sales were up 12.1% for the month, led by a jump in sales of its GX (130%) and LX (56.3%) SUVs.
The Canadian-made RX h SUV’s sales jumped by 8% to 54 units.
Scion sales for the month totalled 197 units.
