R. Wales Canada moving into new BC plant in 2016
114,000 square-foot facility in Surrey will create 30 jobs.
SURREY, BC — R. Wales Canada, a subsidiary of Weir Canada Inc., will move into a 114,000 square-foot facility at Surrey. BC.’s Campbell Heights Business Park in 2016.
The company, an engineering services provider and equipment manufacturer for the resource sector, said the facility will create 30 jobs.
The plant will be developed under a joint venture partnership between Beedie Development Group and Surrey City Development Corp. (SCDC). Once completed, the facility will mark the first time Beedie, Western Canada’s largest private industrial landlord, is building on industrial land owned by SCDC.
Campbell Heights has quickly become one of Metro Vancouver’s most attractive industrial hubs due to its central location and transportation connectivity. Notable tenants include Loblaw Companies Ltd., OK Tire, and Advanced Wire Products.
R. Wales Canada is currently located in a 37,000-square-foot facility in Richmond, BC, with an additional 23,000 square feet of outdoor work space.
The Campbell Heights North facility will be on 5.83 acres of land and will include an additional 30,000 square feet for future expansion. The company will create 30 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees in BC to 110.
It has signed a 20-year commitment in Campbell Heights North.

Established in 1897, Weir Canada supplies engineering expertise and equipment to more than 20,000 resource businesses in Canada and around the world. In March 2013, R. It manufactures rubber lining for pipes, tanks, chutes and hoses and specializes in custom rubber and urethane molded products.
