Quebec’s AV&R, IMAC Automation announce merger
New company will offer automation, robotics and vision services.

MONTREAL – AV&R Vision & Robotics and IMAC Automation are merging to become AV&R group, a Montreal-based engineering firm that will focus its services on automation.
AV&R specializes in robotics for the aerospace industry, while IMAC develops manufacturing automation and die casting equipment. Together, the two SMEs plan to offer automation, robotics and vision solutions.
The new company will employ more than 120 people, including 80 engineering graduates.
The merger will comprise of three business units including:
- AV&R Aerospace adds integration services to automated visual inspection services and robotic finishing, allowing it to automate complete production lines, thanks to the addition of IMAC Automation’s veteran team;
- AV&R will continue to serve IMAC Automation’s existing customers in Quebec in their various sectors with AV&R-IMAC, adding to its local offer skills in machine vision and robotic finishing;
- AV&R Die Casting (formerly IMAC Die Casting) benefits from tsecondary operations integration in inspection or in robotic finishing.
Financial details and a closing date for the deal have not been released.
