ST. CLOUD, Minn. — New Flyer Industries Inc.’s US subsidiary has received an order for 108 buses from the New York City Transit Authority.
The Winnipeg-based bus manufacturer said the order for Xcelsior clean diesel, 60-foot transit buses adds 216 equivalent units to New Flyer of America Inc.’s backlog.
No financial information was released.
NYCT and MTA Bus Co. (together, MTA) comprise the largest transit agency in North America serving an estimated 8.5 million people.
The New Flyer Industry Group and its subsidiaries employs nearly 6 ,000 people and includes 32 fabrication, manufacturing, distribution, and service centres across Canada and the US and employing nearly 6,000 team members.
