Joint development deal for Alberta cannabis production facility

Delta 9 and Westleaf contribute $3 million each to limited partnership.

WINNIPEG — Delta 9 Cannabis Inc. has entered into a limited partnership agreement with Westleaf Cannabis Inc. for the development of a large-scale cannabis production facility in Calgary.

Each company owns a 50% interest in the project and will each contribute $3 million to the limited partnership, to be used with debt financing.

Delta West’s Calgary site will retrofit an existing building that will be equipped to support indoor cannabis cultivation, research and development, processing, and extraction operations as well as house a fulfilment centre to supply Canadian and global markets.

Delta 9 and Westleaf Cultivation Management II Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Westleaf based in Calgary, will provide the cannabis genetics.
The plant is to be operational in the third quarter.

Delta 9 is a licensed producer of medical marijuana and operates an 80,000 square-foot production facility in Winnipeg.
