Top three companies will win cash to reinvest in the their health and safety programs.
TORONTO — The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) new awards program will recognize outstanding health and safety initiatives of small businesses.
The Small Business Health and Safety Leadership Awards aimed at businesses with fewer than 50 employees will examine: safety culture and leadership, inspections, hazard identification and control, quality of return-to-work programs and employee safety engagement survey results.
The top businesses will win a cash prize ($5,000, $3,000 and $2,000) they can reinvest in their health and safety programs.
WSIB-registered businesses can nominate themselves, or be nominated by individuals or local associations until June 30.
The three winners will receive special recognition in September at the WSIB annual general meeting in Toronto.
