WELLAND, Ont. — Lots has happened since Niagara College opens its advanced manufacturing innovation program in May 2013 at the school’s Welland, Ont. campus.
The centre provides Ontario-based manufacturers with state-of-the-art equipment and research facilities, and an arsenal of faculty and students available for collaboration on projects that reduce production costs and minimize production time. It also provides students with a way to connect with the more than 850 regional industry players, and earn that much touted work experience before they graduate.
Well, now the school is getting even more innovative. Thanks to a $4.2 million investment from the Ontario government, construction on a 15,000-square-foot expansion at the college’s Rankin Technology Centre is scheduled to begin this year.
