KJ Controls acquired by Alabama-based SPOC Automation Inc.

Automation equipment manufacturer says acquisition will enhance global footprint strategy.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — SPOC Automation, Inc., an Alabama-based oil and gas industry engineering, software, and automation equipment manufacturing company, has completed its acquisition of KJ Controls Canada, based in Spruce Grove, Alta.

Founded in 1999, KJ Controls is a supplier of variable frequency drives and electrical automation solutions for oil and gas and industrial clients across Western Canada.

SPOC says the acquisition will enhance its global footprint strategy to deliver their variable frequency drive products, cloud based SCADA and automation solutions in the artificial lift controls space of the oil and gas industry. It also brings new in-house capability to develop the company’s integrated solution-based approach to oil field controls and automation solutions.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, and the acquisition closed on February 15.

SPOC Automation, based in Trussville, Ala., builds variable frequency drives (VFD), engineers artificial lift controls and automation technology for the oil and gas industry.
