CGI wins contract with Volvo, renews Michelin contract
The tech company and Volvo have developed a system that will enable secure online connections in cars.
MONTREAL — CGI says it has signed an agreement with auto company Volvo to provide services that will enable secure online connections in Volvo cars.
Financial terms of the deal with CGI weren’t released.
CGI and the automaker have developed a system to allow safe access to digital services in Volvo cars such as navigation and traffic apps.
Montreal’s CGI also says its contract with Michelin, a tire manufacturer and travel services provider, has been renewed. Terms of that deal also weren’t released.
CGI says it will be the preferred partner for all of Michelin’s procurement, marketing, sales and corporate finance applications and their development related to activities in Europe and North America.
CGI is the fifth largest independent information technology and business process services firm in the world and has about 68,000 employees.
