GoPro releases incredible POV footage from Stratos Space Jump [VIDEO]
Skydiver Felix Baumgarner fell more than 127,000 feet.
In October 2012, Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner ascended 128,100 feet above the Earth’s surface and to the edge of outer space to accomplish a feat no man had ever achieved before.
The stunt, known as Red Bull Stratos, saw Baumgartner climb in a custom built space pod tethered to a stratospheric balloon before free falling for more than four minutes, breaking a number of world records in the process, including the record for fastest speed of free fall at 1,357.64 km/h, becoming the first human to break the sound barrier outside of a vehicle.
Now GoPro, the popular action camera company, is taking viewers along for the ride, releasing first-person footage from cameras strapped to Baumgartner’s skydiving suit. Have a look at the incredible video below.
