EDMONTON — Shell Canada says several gas stations in Alberta are out of gas due to a problem at its refinery northeast of Edmonton.
A Shell official says the “supply interruption” is due to an “upset” at its Scotford Refinery near Fort Saskatchewan that happened on Aug. 9.
It’s not known exactly how many stations have been affected by the gas shortage or when they would be back up and running.
Company spokesman Cameron Yost says the company is looking for other sources of gasoline so its stations will have product.
Yost says it’s not known when the problem at the refinery will be solved.
“We realize that it’s a big inconvenience to our customers, and we apologize for that,” Yost said.
