EMC, BMO launch industry friendly banking program
Initiative offers services, resources and expertise aimed at manufacturers.
EMC, the Owen Sound, Ont.-based national consortium of manufacturers, says this new initiative with BMO Bank of Montreal will provide a high-value manufacturing resource for industry throughout Ontario.
EMC notes manufacturers regularly face global competitors that quote on business with significantly lower costs; and to be viable, they need help to be more productive, reduce their costs and have access to the best financial information possible.
“Nobody knows the challenges affecting manufacturing better than the manufacturers themselves,” said Al Diggins, EMC’s president and general manager. “Gone are the days of the ‘old-fashioned banker’ who intimately knew each client, their goals and challenges.”
Diggins says EMC is working with BMO to reconnect manufacturers with bankers, “to build trusted relationships and provide better information and competitive resources for our members to be successful.”
Building on EMC’s model of regionally-based manufacturing clusters, the EMC-BMO Manufacturing Banking Program will enable manufacturers to access greater subject-matter-expertise, banking resources and direct access to manufacturing banking experts through a dedicated, industry-driven program.
“We have developed a dedicated team of qualified account managers – across the country – who understand the manufacturing industry and are committed to ensuring our clients have the tools and resources that will help them achieve short-term and long-term success,” said Al Giguere, vice-president of commercial banking for BMO Bank of Montreal.
Building on EMC’s model of success with regionally-based manufacturing clusters, the EMC-BMO Manufacturing Banking Program will enable manufacturers to access greater subject-matter-expertise, banking resources and direct access to manufacturing banking experts, through a dedicated, industry-driven program.
This program is open to all manufacturers and free for EMC members. Manufacturers interested in accessing it should e-mail Laura Gibson (email@example.com).
