KINGSEY FALLS, Que. — Cascades’ line of Ultratill products has been awarded the CPIA Sustainability Award by the Canadian Plastics Industry Association, which recognizes companies that develop innovative green products for the food industry.
Specifically designed for mushroom growers and packers across North America, Ultratill contains 80% recycled post-consumer material.
Lighter than traditional containers, Ultratill is solid, resistant and recyclable. Its production is based on improved manufacturing processes that require fewer raw materials, and this further contributes to reducing the product’s environmental footprint. Cascades says the product line reduces CO2 emissions by 62% during its life cycle compared to other mushroom containers made of HIPS.
Founded in 1964, Cascades is a manufacturer of recycled packaging and tissue products, employing more than 11,000 employees,at 90 production units in North America and Europe.
