WATERLOO, Ont. — BlackBerry Ltd. has appointed former Cisco executive Carl Wiese president of global sales to drive the Waterloo, Ont.-based tech developer’s go-to-market strategy and its global sales efforts.
Wiese, who spent more than a decade in senior leadership at Cisco, most recently as senior vice-president, led the San Jose, Calif.-based networking giant’s global collaboration business, directing sales and go-to-market strategy.
Wiese will report to executive chairman and CEO John Chen, and will succeed John Sims, who has left the company.
During his tenure at Cisco, Wiese successfully drove the company’s sales and deployment for new and emerging technologies.
He has also held executive positions at Apple, Avaya, Lucent and Texas Instruments.
