$20M nitrogen plant to supply BC natural gas production

CALGARY: Ferus Inc. is constructing a liquid nitrogen plant in Dawson Creek, BC that will supply the gas for the production of natural gas from wells in the region.Ferus, a Calgary-based provider of industrial gases to the energy sector, said the $20-million, state-of-the-art facility will produce liquid nitrogen from the air.“The location of a nitrogen facility in north-eastern BC fits perfectly with Ferus’s business model of locating plants right where our customers need product so that we can meet their needs as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Dick Brown, the company’s president and CEO.The plant, now under construction, is to be fully operational by the end of next year. Ferus said it will have the capacity to be expanded in the future as energy activity continues to develop in the region.Ferus owns and operates six cryogenic plants located throughout the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin.PLANT
