$1M Navy deal for Mitec

Mitec Telecom wins a $1 million Canadian Navy deal to provide radar system components.

MONTREAL: Mitec Telecom Inc. has been awarded a Canadian Navy contract valued at $1 million to provide radar-system components.

The Montreal-based manufacturer of mobile wireless, fixed wireless, broadcast and satellite components, said it was the original equipment supplier for the radar systems approximately 15 years ago.

Project management, qualification testing and production will be done at Mitec’s facility in Pointe-Claire, Que. and the order completed by the second quarter of the company’s fiscal year 2012.

Mitec sells its products worldwide to network providers for incorporation into wireless networks used in voice and data/internet communications.
