EMC session focuses on strategies and benefits of standard work
Free event will help manufacturers address productivity and quality issues.
BURLINGTON, Ont. — Burlington and Oakville manufacturers and stakeholders are invited to a free industry event that will focus on strategies to introduce, deploy and achieve the benefits of standard work.
They will also learn how industry is leveraging the expertise and experience that already exists in manufacturing communities throughout Canada, and how that advantage increases through peer networking with other manufacturers..
Presented by the Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC), it will feature speakers Al Diggins, president and general manager of EMC, a not-for-profit manufacturing consortium, and Devin Melanson, a senior advisor with Value Stream Solutions Inc., a productivity firm based in Ramara, Ont..
Attendees will learn about the value of introducing standard work as it pertains to increasing productivity and quality. Discussions will be focused on the pitfalls encountered and strategies deployed by manufacturers to achieve consistent, sustainable performance.
The session takes place Nov. 16 (8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, meeting room 1, 2302 Bridge Road in Oakville, Ont.
