Redpath Sugar invests $5.2M for new packaging lines at Belleville plant

Project will create 80 jobs and retain 291 positions; includes $624K provincial investment.

BELLEVILLE, Ont. — Redpath Sugar Ltd. is investing $5.2 million to upgrade its Belleville, Ont. plant to add new pouch packaging capabilities.

The investment includes a $624,263 contribution by the Ontario government’s Eastern Ontario Development Fund.

The project will create 80 jobs and retain 291 positions.

Redpath is a leading refiner of cane sugar and provides a wide range of sugar products to consumers, food service outlets and food manufacturers throughout Canada.

The Belleville plant co-manufactures major retail brands and private label products, such as iced tea, hot chocolate, drink crystals, gelatins and milk powder blends.
