$11M investment from the Green Municipal Fund

PICTON, Ont.: The Town of Picton, Ont. has a new $26 million wastewater treatment plant.
The facility, which was officially opened Aug. 7, cost close to $26 million, got an $11-million investment from the federal Green Municipal Fund, plus $5 million each from the federal, Ontario and municipal governments.
Daryl Kramp, Member of Parliament for Prince Edward-Hastings, said the plant will provide a higher level of treatment than the existing plant, improve wastewater quality “and allow for more sustainable future development and growth within the Picton area.”
