PARIS—The new Boeing 747-8 is the first ever aircraft to complete a transatlantic flight using biofuels in all four of the freighter’s engines, according to a story from Yahoo News.
The airplane was powered by a blend of 15 per cent camelina-based biofuel and 85 per cent traditional kerosene Jet A fuel.
The 747-8 made it’s international debut yesterday at the Paris airshow.
Boeing also announced it received orders worth more than US$11 billion for 56 jets from Qatar Airways, Los Angeles-based Air Lease Corp. and two other undisclosed buyers.
