COM DEV Europe wins radio frequency electronics contract

The work, worth up to $18.7 million will take place in the UK and last up to 30 months.

AYLESBURY, UK – COM DEV Europe Ltd has been awarded a contract to develop sophisticated radio frequency (RF) electronics equipment for an undisclosed international satellite manufacturer in a deal worth up to $18.7 million.

Work on the contract will take place at COM DEV’s facility in Aylesbury UK and will last approximately 30 months.

“This contract cements COM DEV Europe’s reputation for the supply of high-reliability RF Electronics and builds upon a successful Phase B programme completed in 2012” said Rob Spurrett, president of COM DEV Europe. “This is particularly pleasing since it shows the confidence that my team has engendered with the customer’s design and management team.”

COM DEV Europe (CDE) is subsidiary of COM DEV International, a Cambridge, Ont.-based designer and manufacturer of space hardware subsystems. Founded in 1985 and based in Aylesbury, UK, CDE supplies complex equipment, technology solutions and subsystems for space applications with equipment supplied on over 85 space programmes. Its customer base includes all the major space satellite providers as well as government institutions.
