Touareg TDI Clean Diesel takes Utility of the Year at CIAS

German automaker beats out heavyweights like BMW, Range Rover and Ford.

TORONTO: Volkswagen’s Touareg Diesel TDI Clean Diesel has been named the 2012 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS).

The Touareg Clean Diesel, which also won the “Best New SUV/CUV ($35,000 o $60,000)” class, is powered by a 6-cylinder, 225hp, V6 diesel engine that consumes 11.9L/100km in the city and 8L/100km on the highway.
