MONTREAL: Delhi-Solac Inc., a Quebec-based manufacturer of steel tubing, has officially opened its plant in Kings Mountain, NC.

Solaris Industries Inc., the new wholly owned subsidiary of Delhi-Solac, plans to hire about 50 employees over the next two years.

The 100,000-square-foot plant also offers space for expansion opportunities.

"The decision to establish ourselves in the US was part of our long-term strategy and development plan. The choice to locate this new facility in North Carolina was a strategic one in order to adequately meet the needs of our current and future clients," said Denis Boulais, president and CEO of Delhi-Solac.

Delhi-Solac has been manufacturing steel tubes for more than 40 years. Over the last three years, it has doubled its market share in Canada and solidified its position in several of the markets that it serves. Delhi-Solac already has a number of clients in the US, notably in industries such as fencing, horse stalls, garage doors and others.
