GUELPH, Ont.: Linamar Corp. is acquiring the assets of three automotive components businesses owned by the Famer Group in France.
The Famer Group’s three facilities located in St Romain en Gier, St Etienne and Montfaucon manufacture cylinder heads, blocks, gears and other engine and transmission parts for large engines, off-highway and automotive applications.
“Their experienced, highly skilled work force, customer base, products and strategic location within Europe add another great building block for our European growth particularly with targeted customers,” said Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz.
Owned by Famer Industrie, Famer Transmissions and Famer Rivoire, their total revenue is more than $68 million.
Linamar, a Guelph, Ont. manufacturer of automotive parts and other industrial and consumer products, said the 300 full-time employees and other temporary employees of the businesses will be transferred to its subsidiaries.
