CALGARY: Pure Technologies Ltd. is forming a dedicated robotics division to accelerate its entry into the pipeline robotic inspection sector.
The Calgary-based technology and services company purchased the assets of PipeEye International last year, acquiring one dual-robot inspection system. Pure Technologies will invest in two additional systems, one for water pipelines and the other for international projects.
These systems will be capable of undertaking inspections using high-definition digital CCTV, pipeline mapping, sonar and laser profiling, and Pure’s patented P-Wave electromagnetic inspection technology.
The new division will be based in Columbia, Md. with technical support, maintenance and data management facilities.
