MORELOS, Mexico—Unilever is investing more than $135 million to build a deodorant manufacturing facility in Mexico.

The new factory will become Unilever’s manufacturing hub for Axe, Rexona and Dove deodorant brands.

The plant is forecast to double the production of deodorants, supplying markets in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Central America, the Caribbean and Colombia.

Some of the plant’s power will be generated from solar panels and it uses water recycling systems.

The company says the $135-million investment will allow the plant to produce more than half a billion aerosol-based products a year.
